The short version
in a sentence
A thriller set in a flooded seaside town. We shot the poster in a heated pool in Margate, in one night.
The brief
Northlight wanted a poster that felt cold and close, without showing the flood itself. The film is about a man who stays in a town everyone else has left, so the image had to be one person and a lot of water.
We had one night in a hired pool and a lead actor who had finished his last shooting day that afternoon.
The shoot
We lit the pool from below with magenta gels and kept the camera at the waterline. Priya shot 900 frames in four hours. Theo cut the teaser from the same night, so the poster and the first sixty seconds of footage share one grade.
What we delivered
One teaser poster, five character posters, a 60-second teaser, 24 social cuts and the billboard set for the London and Manchester campaign.
